がん細胞の増殖には、多くの酸素が必要とされます。がん細胞は効率的に酸素を取込むための仕組みとして、エリスロポエチンとその受容体を大量に産生することが知られています。
当社では、がん細胞の増殖に必要なエリスロポエチンをブロックするためのペプチド医薬品を開発しています。また、当社は大分大学の創薬プラットフォームと連携し、従来の創薬手法では実現できなかったペプチドの部分構造の低分子化についても検討しています。
当社が開発する新しい医薬品が、難治性がんの患者さんにとっての光明になるよう、社員一同全力を尽くす所存です。

The company has been established on February of 2018 to bring foward innovative treatment for cancer.
Cancer cell is reportedly known to express high level of erythropoientin receptor for intake of oxygen which is essential for their survival and growth.
In Epo-med, we are developing novel peptide which can block erythropoientin needed for the cancer cell to survive and grow. In collaboration with Oita University, we are seeking to make part of peptide into a small molecule drug which was extremly difficult to conduct with currently available technology.
The company and our staff will work to provide new and innovative drug to the patients with refractory cancer.
